But some were doubtful.
Matthew 28:16-17, But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
It's the little nuggets like this that give me great hope. Even though they had seen Him, even though Thomas had been invited to touch his scars, "some were doubtful." Even so, He did not reject those who He called, and He sent His promised Holy Spirit to them, and they lived to see the world changed by His love. Sometimes it seems that things in this world have simply gone too far, that there is nothing that we can do. Perhaps that's my own form of doubt, but even so I can take heart for it is not by my own power that anything will happen, but by His Spirit! Are we willing to take one step, to touch one life with His love?
Come, Holy Spirit, lead and guide us to the lives that You want to touch one at a time.
