There was no one to intercede.
Isaiah 59:15b-16, Now the Lord saw, and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice. And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him; and His righteousness upheld Him.
Our plight is best summed up in the scripture from Judges, "Each one did what was right in his own eyes.” Our culture has certainly pursued that idea, along with many over the ages. Right from the fall of Adam, our Lord has had His amazing plan for salvation, which has come to us by His own arm. We who have deserved nothing but the justice of God have been redeemed. He has become our righteousness, and brought our salvation!
We long for others to be rescued by Your mighty hand before You bring Your inevitable justice.
