Ending the prayers of David.

Psalm 72:18-20, Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen. The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

What a fitting end to the prayers and psalms of David, to bless the name of the Lord our God. It almost sounds backwards, for He is the One who has given us the blessing of His Son; all the more reason to bless His Holy Name. And as we bless His name, we can indeed join in this prayer of David.

We bless Your name; and pray that the whole earth be filled with Your glory, O Lord!
