Practicing your righteousness.
Matthew 6:1, “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.”
How exciting that we are actually able to lay up treasure in heaven, for we know all too well about the ephemeral nature of earthly treasure. The past few years have brought economic upheaval and the next few years may bring more. Jesus encourages us to have the right attitude as we share the blessings that he gives us with others, that we might have eternal rewards! What amazing opportunities to practice our righteousness in this way might come up today?
Keep us walking faithfully as we practice our righteousness; thank you that we have this reward in safe keeping with our Father who is in heaven!
