“Do not fear, only believe.”
Mark 5:35-36, While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
Even when Jesus walked, even when the crowds pressed on him to receive healing as did the woman who sought only to touch his garment and was healed, people placed limits on what God could do. He might be a great healer, but how could he do anything after life departed? Yet Jesus affirms his power over all by assuring the ruler of the synagogue that faith overcomes fear! What kind of limits do we place on him by unbelief?
We thank you for scriptures that encourage us that you are Lord over all, that we need not fear, only believe!
