Weakness.
2 Corinthians 11:30, If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
We see and hear boasting all the time, by many people who are in the public eye. I remember my mother being very annoyed with a popular radio host when I was growing up, because he loved to praise himself! It’s far better to receive praise and honor from others rather that ourselves even in the secular world. Paul takes it even further in describing his role as a fool for Christ; in the eyes of the world, he had it all in his former role. And yet when he met the living Lord Jesus Christ on that road to Damascus, he gave it all up for a life filled with hardship, beatings and prison in order to proclaim the good news with boldness that is remarkable. What could happen if we all pursued our Lord with as much passion as did Paul?
Give us your boldness and grace to accept what comes our way as did Paul!
