Seek mercy from the God of heaven.

Daniel 2:17-20, Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.”

Many lives are on the line and Daniel boldly asserts to the king that there is a God who can reveal all that the king is demanding and goes in confidence to his friends. They proceed to pray and seek mercy from God and He gives Daniel a vision of all that is required by the king. He declares to the king that this knowledge is not available to any of his wise men including himself except by the power of God almighty. He does this so that the thoughts of the kings own mind may be revealed to him by God! Many times we allow worry and fear to dominate a situation when what is required is to spend time on our knees inviting others to join us and wait upon the Lord for His mighty hand to move. Like I always jokingly say, “Why pray when we can worry?” Am I willing to replace worry with prayer and wait upon the Lord today?

We thank You that we can come boldly to You at every moment of this day and that You hear our prayer and imbue us with Your divine wisdom and reveal Your mysteries to us!
