“You are my witnesses.”

Isaiah 43:10-13, “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God. Also henceforth I am he; there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?”

God calls the nation forth as witnesses both those who are blind and worship idols and those who are His own. Idols, created and sustained by the hands of men, have no real power in the presence of almighty God creator of the universe! The first believers who saw the risen Christ were together in prayer when the Holy Spirit came upon them in power and they became His witnesses to “the end of the earth.” He empowers us today by His Holy Spirit that we may be witnesses to all that He is doing. Do I recognize His power working in my life today and am I willing to be His witness?

Thank You for all that You have done and all You are doing in our lives today; give us Your boldness to be Your witnesses whenever we have an opportunity!
