“Because you have not obeyed My words.”

Jeremiah 25:8, “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Because you have not obeyed My words...’”

We see the longsuffering grace of God in that He has sent His own prophets for twenty-three years to warn the people “again and again” and they would not obey. Scripture tells us that to obey is better than sacrifice. We who have the perfect sacrifice are safe and secure; He asks us to keep His commandments “and His commandments are not burdensome.” He asks us to love God and to love each other. He offers us His yoke, that we may take His yoke upon us and learn from Him: “For my Yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Lord, we take Your Yoke upon us that we may receive Your strength for today to love You more fully and to love those whom You bring us in contact with Your divine love. Thank You that as we secure and stay our minds on You, that You give us the peace that passes all understanding!
