“I spoke to you in your prosperity.”

Jeremiah 22:21-22, “I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you said, ‘I will not listen!’ This has been your practice from your youth, that you have not obeyed My voice. The wind will sweep away all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity; then you will surely be ashamed and humiliated because of all your wickedness.”

God chose to build a nation out of a promise to Abraham; he rescued them from slavery in Egypt and brought them into the Promised Land. There’s something dangerous about prosperity, it is far too easy for us to forget who is really in charge. The most amazing thing about God is that He is so longsuffering towards us. He speaks like this over and over for many years, and still the people ignore Him. What is He speaking to us today?
