It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.
Genesis 41:14-16, Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” Joseph then answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”
God’s amazing grace is present not only for Joseph and the nation of Egypt, but also for the nation to be, Israel, as this plan unfolds. Joseph clearly gives credit to God in his ability to interpret the dreams. And as this story unfolds, we see not only this divine interpretation, but the proposal of a divine plan to deal with a prophecy of devastating famine that puts Joseph in charge of implementing God’s plan. Do we trust God in every situation to unfold His plans in His perfect timing?
We give thanks that You are unfolding Your amazing plans filled with grace, mercy and provision even now, Lord; use us as You will today in Your plan.
