He put up with them.

Acts 13:17, “The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out from it. And for a period of about forty years He put up with them in the wilderness.”

The people of Israel were led out from Egypt after an incredible array of miracles and yet weeks later while Moses was on the mountain the fell before a golden calf. And Aaron, who led the calf, claimed that it had just sprung out of the fire! Over and over they tested the patience of God through that time. Things haven’t changed much, for I know that I test His patience as well. I’m glad that God doesn’t give up on us!
