The one who practices righteousness.

1 John 3:7-8, Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

The idea of practicing righteousness might be similar to learning a musical instrument. When we devote ourselves on a regular basis to practice, we build new habits and skills. It doesn’t just happen. And in fact, there are enemies that will try to distract us from learning to play well. As we seek to practice righteousness, the stakes are even higher; fortunately He has come to destroy the works of the ultimate enemy!

Lead me in paths of Your righteousness today, thank You for destroying the works of the enemy!
