Like a mustard seed.
Luke 13:18, Therefore He was saying, "What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his own garden; and it grew and became a tree; and THE BIRDS OF THE AIR NESTED IN ITS BRANCHES."
Jesus wants us to keep it simple, like little children. He uses an example like this that any child can understand, that when you plant a tiny seed it can grow into a huge tree. It’s only as an adult that we can begin to comprehend what is involved in a seed as the amazing genetic, protective, nourishing capsule that it truly is. Yet fruit is produced not by understanding and explaining everything about a seed, but merely by planting it! God’s wisdom springs forth into new life and bearing multiplied fruit!
You give us Your word as seed; let me be faithful to plant it, that another may water and another may harvest to bring glory to Your name in that fruitfulness!
