Everyone who confesses Me before men.

Luke 12:8, "And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man shall confess him also before the angels of God; but he who denies Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God."

We might think of this as a one-time confession before the church, as part of a ritual in making a public confession of faith. What about the way we live, does it confess Him before men? Or do I deny Him by my words and actions as did Peter? Even though Peter fell into denial, we can be thankful that Jesus did not abandon him. I know that I cannot confess Him by my own strength, that I need the power of His Holy Spirit to confess Him in my life today!

Thank You that You do not abandon us. Thank You for the power to confess You with my life today, and to rescue me when I deny You. Come, Holy Spirit, I need Your power to confess Jesus in my life today!
