Worshiping the Lord and fasting.
Acts 13:2-3, While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
We are in awe of the amazing Acts of the Apostles recorded in scripture. And yet, we easily overlook that before the Holy Spirit was received the were all together “in one place.” And now, before Saul and Barnabas went forth we see that the believers fasted and prayed for them, and that only after the Holy Spirit called them forth during a time of worship and fasting. Only then did they send them out to ministry. When was the last time we sent someone out into the mission field after fasting and prayer?
