Earnest prayer.
Acts 12:5, So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.
We read of these amazing miracles in the book of Acts and long to see them in our own time. Behind the scene of Peter’s amazing release from prison is this simple fact: the church was on its knees in prayer. They were likely scattered throughout the area meeting quietly in homes because of the intensity of the persecution, and they prayed earnestly for Peter. Do we have the same kind of commitment today? Would we have this kind of commitment in the face of this kind of persecution?
We thank you that you hear our prayers, and that through them you are pleased to move in your amazing ways, O Lord!
