And Jesus cried out.

John 12:44-46, And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”

This is set in the context of those authorities who believed in Jesus but for fear of the Pharisees and being put out of the synagogue did not confess him: “for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.” His cry is clear and rings out to us today: “whosoever will” may come into the light. When we see him and believe in him, we see and believe in the one who sent him. Why remain in darkness?

Keep us in your light, to receive the glory that comes from God as we confess you before men!
