They will eat the fruit of their actions.

Isaiah 3:8-15, For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because their speech and their actions are against the LORD, to rebel against His glorious presence. The expression of their faces bears witness against them. And they display their sin like Sodom; they do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves. Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their actions. Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, for what he deserves will be done to him. O My people! Their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray, and confuse the direction of your paths. The LORD arises to contend, and stands to judge the people. The LORD enters into judgment with the elders and princes of His people, “It is you who have devoured the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses. What do you mean by crushing My people, and grinding the face of the poor?” declares the Lord GOD of hosts.

In our own culture, the very idea of sin and God is ridiculed. In living a righteous life we must always recognize His amazing grace, and that it is He who gives us the power to live each day. Are we living winsome lives, attracting others to us so that others want to be around us? Or are we caught up in self-righteous display of religious fervor that seeks to prove others to be in error? We are to be “in the world, not of the world.” Paul said that he was willing to become “all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.” Obviously this doesn’t mean pursing a sinful lifestyle; it just means being kind and winsome to those who disturb us by their lifestyle and actions. Paul, in listing the sins still prevalent in our time says “And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.” Let us live our lives with the hope that some one else might be saved!

When I meet others who irritate me remind me that it was You who pursued and rescued me from the power of sin and death. Give me Your compassion for those I meet today and let me by Your hands and Your voice to bring Your light into every situation!
