The Spirit of grace and supplication.
Zechariah 12:9-10, “And it will come about in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first-born.”
Does this sound familiar, that nations desire to see the total destruction of the nation of Israel? This sounds like the nightly news! God is in control; He has other plans. He has a chosen people and He was pierced even for the ones who pierced Him. Let we become too proud we must recognize that had we been there we would have joined in the cry “Crucify Him!” Even so, even in our rebellion and our stumbling ways He loves us and longs for us to turn to Him so that He can demonstrate His amazing grace!
Thank You for Your Amazing Grace; give us the power to show that grace to others whom You also love!
