Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150, PRAISE the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
The last five Psalms begin and end with the same phrase: “Praise the Lord.” We sometimes think that we are not being fed in our spiritual life. One of my teachers noted that when he hears a person say he is not being fed, he replies: “Eat!” When we experience natural hunger, we seek food naturally; when we are hungry spiritually that food can easily begin with praise. I like to sing and play guitar; it’s all too infrequent that I simply use that gift to offer up a sacrifice of praise to Him. Even more simply, begin in praise for all that He has done and see what happens!
We thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning, for Your great faithfulness. We Praise You in all that you have done, with the breath that You so generously give us, O Lord!
