To walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:6-8, With what shall I come to the LORD snd bow myself before the God on high? Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves? Does the LORD take delight in thousands of rams, in ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my first-born for my rebellious acts, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
One of our teachers gave a wonderful insight: while we are not giving burnt offerings and animal sacrifice anymore, many of us think that we need to present some other kind of offering to climb our way up the stairway to heaven. The good news of Jesus Christ is that God isn’t taking offerings any more. God has accepted the offering Jesus made on our behalf, once and for all eternity: He who had no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God.
Thank You that we are safe and secure in Christ for all eternity! Propel us on the wind of Your Spirit to, to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with You, our God.
