Trembling.

Ezra 10:9, So all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within the three days. It was the ninth month on the twentieth of the month, and all the people sat in the open square before the house of God, trembling because of this matter and the heavy rain.

Today, sadly, attendance at a church service will likely drop off when it rains. When conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, amazing things happen. We try to produce repentance by making more rules; only He can bring the repentance that leads to salvation. Instead of trying to put fences around others, we might consider doing what Ezra did: “praying and making confession, weeping and prostrating himself before the house of God,”
