Not all things are profitable.

1 Corinthians 10:23-24, All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor.

Christ has done what no one else born of flesh could every do: He has changed our fundamental sin nature. It’s not about what we do, it’s about our very nature. “He who had no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God.” While this gives us tremendous freedom in Christ, there are things that we can do that tear down and others that build up. He wants us to seek those things that build up!

Keep me focused on building others up in Your name, Lord Jesus.
