Authority.

1 Corinthians 7:3-4, Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

Some people think that God is against sexual intimacy; nothing could be further from the truth, for He invented it. He knew that it was not good for the man to be alone, and gave him Eve, “flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone.” It’s His desire that a man should leave his father and mother and cleave – adhere firmly and closely, or loyally and unwaveringly – to his wife that “the two should become one flesh.” This is no something that we can do on our own, even when the two are one-hundred percent committed to each other; we need the Holy Spirit of God to unite us. We are approaching our fortieth wedding anniversary next month, we know we need Him every day!
