What are these for so many people?

John 6:9, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?”

We are here for a purpose, just as those barley loaves and fish were there for a purpose. In the eyes of the world, those loaves and fish were insignificant, but in the hands of Jesus they were multiplied to feed a multitude. He has given each of us grace “according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” Are we willing to place ourselves in His hands, to be multiplied to His glory as were the simple barley loaves and fish?

We place ourselves in Your hands, O Lord; “Be it done to me according to Your word!”
