Be kind and compassionate to one another.
Ephesians 4:31-32, Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Paul makes it clear that we are in a battle, not for our salvation, for that is secure in Jesus Christ and His perfect sacrifice. Even so, Paul calls us to “put off your old self,” to be made new in our attitudes and our minds and to “put on the new self.” We don’t even have to rely on our own strength, for we have His Holy Spirit. When we encounter those “special people” from time to time, we must stop and remember how much God has forgiven us in Christ Jesus!
Remind me at each moment of Your incredible love and forgiveness that I may work out my salvation in forgiving others, in demonstrating Your compassion!
