The arrogant heart.
Isaiah 10:12, So it will be that when the Lord has completed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will say, “I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his haughtiness.”
God used a godless nation to bring judgment upon His people; it is also true that He reserved judgment against the pride and arrogant king. It’s tempting to fall into the popular idea that we are “self made;” scripture tells us that He is the one who gives us the power to produce anything at all. The best gift of all is the One that we remember this time of year!
We thank You for the gift of Your son; we come to worship Him knowing that He is more than a babe in a manger, for He is coming soon! Let us be used to bring Your peace on Earth today, Lord.
