Yet your end will increase greatly.
Job 8:1-7, Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, “How long will you say these things, and the words of your mouth be a mighty wind? Does God pervert justice or does the Almighty pervert what is right? If your sons sinned against Him, then He delivered them into the power of their transgression. If you would seek God and implore the compassion of the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, surely now He would rouse Himself for you and restore your righteous estate. Though your beginning was insignificant, yet your end will increase greatly.”
People tend to think like Bildad, that when someone suffers great calamity they are getting what they deserve for some offense against God. If that were true, we all would be in trouble, for scripture is clear that “all fall short of the glory of God.” It is only by His “grace we are saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is a gift of God” through Jesus who offered Himself on the cross as our perfect sacrifice. And even better, He was raised from the dead as the first born among many. Bildad unwittingly prophesies about us all, “yet your end will increase greatly.” Not only did God restore Job in temporal abundance; He provides salvation for us all through Jesus Christ.
Thank You for the light of Christ; let us carry His light today, for the darkness does not comprehend it!
