He who takes refuge in me.
Isaiah 57:11-13, “Of whom were you worried and fearful, when you lied, and did not remember Me, nor give Me a thought? Was I not silent even for a long time so you do not fear Me? I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, but they will not profit you. When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you. But the wind will carry all of them up, and a breath will take them away. But he who takes refuge in Me shall inherit the land, and shall possess My holy mountain.”
The prophet speaks of idolatry, of temple prostitutes, of child sacrifice. There are many today who attack all religion as foolish and recognize nothing above themselves, who think anything should be allowed, who do not recognize the sanctity of life. That’s just another form of idolatry: the self becomes “god.” Will that person be able to deliver himself? We who take refuge in Him can withstand any storm; He has delivered us.
We have Your promise made certain in Christ Jesus who rose from the dead after paying a price we could not pay.
