Speak just as the Father taught Me.

John 8:28-30, So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.” As he was saying these things, many believed in him.

Jesus clearly knew that He would go to the cross, fulfilling prophecy, and taking the curse from us onto Himself to bear the burden of sin once and for all time. What could happen if we also did the things that are pleasing to the Father? What could happen if we spoke just as the Father taught Him and us?

We delight to do Your will, O God; check us when we stray, that we may turn to You and stay in Your light!
