This, the first of His signs.

John 2:9-11, When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Jesus did His first miracle at a party, a wedding party! The Jewish calendar has celebrations and feasts, a sure sign that our God wants us to rejoice in Him. And even better, He rejoices over us, for He is the mighty one who saves, and He exults over us with loud singing! Many people see God as some vengeful tyrant, out to get them. If He wanted to get you, you’d already be gotten! And indeed He does want you, He seeks you, that you may find Him. Why not take a moment to ask Him to reveal Himself to you?

We are in awe of You, that You would exult over us with loud singing and give thanks that You have sought us even when we ran from You!
