Full of grace and truth.
John 1:10-14, The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
The world in general still does not receive Him, and readily joins in the cry that would come later, “Crucify Him.” Even most of those who were born into the chosen people of God did not receive Him, but He did not stop calling “Come unto me!” He called those who were despised by the self-righteous, and made His grace and truth known to those who would hear His call. And he calls us to that same humility, for our ears were opened only by the hand of God. He walked among these early believers, showing us all the way of the cross; He gave His life to set us free, by the power of His resurrection and went to the Father that He might send the promised Holy Spirit to live within us, the guarantee of our inheritance!
Come, Holy Spirit, fill us with this same grace and truth, and enable us to use Your gifts to bring glory to the Father in Christ Jesus!
