That you may know that you have eternal life.

1 John 5:13-15, I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

The secular world view says that you really can’t know anything absolutely. Are you absolutely sure of that? The truth is that we can know beyond a reasonable doubt that there is a creation, and that something is wrong with that creation as amazing as it is. And we can also know that God has not abandoned us to our plight, for when we were without hope, dead in our sin and trespasses He sent us His beloved Son to live the perfect life we could never live and to die in our place. John wants us to know these things to be true and to know that when we believe in Jesus we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into His glorious light! And we have this confidence, that as we seek His will, we know that He hears us and will grant our requests!

We seek to know Your will just as Jesus did, to see what You are doing and bring glory to Your name!
