“My time has not yet fully come.”
John 7:5-8, For not even his brothers believed in him. Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.”
Jesus’ own family did not understand what He understood. He was not sent to make spectacular public demonstrations of His power. Their ideas were of the world, and only after His resurrection did they come to believe in Him as the Son of God. He was clear about His own time as the ultimate Passover Lamb, and this feast was not His time. How easily are we deceived into the world’s timing; are we willing to wait upon the Lord and His timing?
Give us discernment to know Your timing, O Lord!
