The man believed.

John 4:47-50, When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.” The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.

We’re not that different from Jesus mother, or in this instance the man who wanted Jesus to do things his way. Jesus has something else in mind, to draw us closer to him, that we may grow in our faith and trust of him. This man rose to the challenge, believed the word given him and went on his way. How is he drawing me closer, that I may grow in faith, that my affection is stirred for him?

Thank you for leading us, for increasing our faith, for stirring our affection for you, Lord Jesus!
