Act 27:33-37, As day was about to dawn, Paul urged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have continued in suspense and without food, having taken nothing. Therefore I urge you to take some food. For it will give you strength, for not a hair is to perish from the head of any of you.” And when he had said these things, he took bread, and giving thanks to God in the presence of all he broke it and began to eat. Then they all were encouraged and ate some food themselves.
Paul knew that the Lord was going to deliver him and all those who were on board with him, as long as they stayed on the ship. And he also knew that they would need physical strength to make it. The farmer knows that the seed grows according to a plan laid out by God, and he also knows that he has to get up early to plant those seeds at the right time and work hard to produce a harvest, even though God is in control. We also have a purpose give to each of us by God, and we have a responsibility to seek out all that he has for us and be good stewards. How will he use us today, and are we willing to do what it takes?
