The free gift of God.
Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul clearly shows us in these paragraphs that we serve one of two masters, either sin or righteousness. And there is a price of serving sin that cannot be avoided ultimately resulting in the second death. The benefit is perceived to be great, but in fact sin never really satisfies, it always demands an escalation. As we accept the free gift of God given us by Jesus on the cross, we come under his amazing grace and now have the opportunity to present our bodies to Christ, to accept him as master and reap the fruit of sanctification. Are we seeking to present ourselves to him in every way?
We turn from sin as master and accept you as master Lord Jesus; give us the strength each day to present ourselves as slaves of righteousness leading to sanctification!
