“Who will roll away the stone for us?”

Mark 16:3, And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”

The women were going to the tomb after the Sabbath, to anoint the body of Jesus, thinking about the difficulty of rolling away the stone. Yet the stone was nothing in the presence of the mighty hand of God that not only rolled away the stone, but raised Jesus from the dead! “And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” There was no stone to be rolled away, no anointing to be done, they only needed to tell the others!

We trust in your mighty power that raised Jesus to raise us as well, and also to give us boldness to proclaim his good news!
