In him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily
Colossians 2:8-10, See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
Our culture is no different than that in the day of the Judges, which echos the phrase “each one did what was right in his own eyes.” The Preacher of Ecclesiastes tells us that there is nothing new under the sun, and cut loose from the truth and solid rock of scripture, man invents his own god to worship: self. Without the solid rock, which is Christ, man is adrift in a sea of the unknowable ending only in a whimper of despair and irrelevance. In Christ we see the fullness of deity and we receive his fullness, “grace upon grace.” In Christ alone we rejoice!
No matter what happens in life and this fallen world, we know that you are for us, and that all things work together for good for those who are called according to your purpose!
