Rivers of living water.
John 6:37-39, On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Some who heard him thought Jesus was the Christ, Messiah; others were skeptical because they thought he was from Galilee and did not know he was born in Bethlehem; those sent to arrest him for claiming to be God said “No one ever spoke like this man.” He asks us to come to him, believing that he is who he claims to be, and drink. And he promises a flow of living water, the Spirit, out of the hearts of those who believe in him!
We come to you as believers to drink; let your rivers of living water flow out of our hearts, Lord!
