One fate befalls them both.

Ecclesiastes 2:13-15, And I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness. The wise man’s eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that one fate befalls them both. Then I said to myself, “As is the fate of the fool, it will also befall me. Why then have I been extremely wise?” So I said to myself, “This too is vanity.”

Wisdom applied only in the domain of the world ultimately produces nothing. The things of this world are temporary, and one day we know that they will be burned up. God has promised us a new heavens and earth, not based upon the wisdom of this world, but upon His eternal wisdom and plans for us. Are we seeking to live by His wisdom for all eternity?

Give us discernment as to Your wisdom to bring forth eternal fruit.
