The stranger who resides with you.
Leviticus 19:33-34, “‘When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.’”
God’s grace was to be extended even to foreigners who came into the Promised Land, as a memory of their own time in Egypt. We live as strangers in our own time and our own land; for we know that this world is not our home. And we must remember that in showing hospitality to strangers, that “some have entertained angels without knowing it.” Can we show the grace of God in all that we do towards everyone we meet today?
Thank You that we are but strangers in a strange land, that this world is not our home and that You have prepared a better place for us!
