Overflowing with gratitude.
Colossians 2:6-7, As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.
He had no need other than unconditional love to enter this dark world. For those whom He came to save, for whom He wept were those who rewarded His love with the full fury of the wrath of the cross. Paul notes that in his ministry he was also “filling up that which is lacking in Christ’s afflictions.” We should not be surprised when we suffer for bringing His light into dark places in this world, for “men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.” As we walk in Him and He grows and builds us up, we can pray that we can meet undeserved affliction with His grace and even gratitude for all that He has done for us.
We thank You that when we suffer for doing what is right, You are there to give us strength and to establish our faith.
