Encouraging one another day after day.

Hebrews 3:12-13, Take care, brethren, lest there should bae in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, in falling away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

We are to seek to restore others in a spirit of gentleness, recognizing our own potential for succumbing to temptation and becoming “hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” We are to keep short accounts, taking time to remove the log from our own eye before seeking to remove a splinter from our brother’s eye. In order to do this we have to know others beyond seeing them occasionally in a church service. We have to be willing to risk being known in order to know others. All of this takes time and truly caring for others and can’t be done in a vacuum!

We thank You that our faith is to be lived out with others who truly care about each other; help us to be an encouragement to those others we know who love You and who are called according to Your purpose!
