They grumbled.

Matthew 20:11-12, "And when they received it, they grumbled at the landowner, saying, 'These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.'"

We all want recognition for what we do, it’s something that is part of our culture. Jesus wants us to recognize that in coming to Him, we are not depending upon our own deeds, but upon His marvelous generosity through the cross in receiving anyone at all. Do our deeds arise out of thankfulness for His amazing generosity?

We are amazed at Your generosity towards us; we want to give thanks by our actions to bring glory to Your Name, O Lord!
