For their deeds follow with them.

Revelation 14:12-13, Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”

Our pastor noted that most of us don’t know who our ancestors are beyond grandparents, and like them we’ll soon be forgotten. Our deeds have eternal significance; do I really see that everything I do will follow me for all eternity?

Guide me Father, by the power of Your Spirit, to walk in my faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be salt and light in this dark place!
