Flee idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:14, Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

Paul urges us to flee—literally to take flight, to escape, via the way that is offered whenever there is temptation. Other scripture tells us to flee from youthful lusts, immorality and the love of money. Most amazing is that word from James: “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Give us discernment to recognize temptation for what it is, idolatry, and to take flight by the way out that You promise us.
