Suffer for doing what is right.

1 Peter 3:17-18, For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Most of us relate more to suffering for doing what is wrong, which is not what Peter is talking about! He gives us the power to stand, to do what is right even though it is costly. Jesus has gone all the way to the cross, and we don't have to do what He has done. We only have to be faithful in whatever situations He wills for us.

We thank You for Your promise that You will be with us; come, Holy Spirit, we need Your wise counsel and Your strength today!
