For the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Nehemiah 8:9-10, Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law. Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

What an amazing truth! When we come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, our flesh recognizes how hopeless we are. And yet God is calling us to lift up our heads, to enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts, to come boldly before His throne of grace, to put on the wedding garment He freely gives us and celebrate! Our own strength can never pay the price; He has paid it for us, and we of all people should be filed with His joy!

We need reminders every moment that it is Your joy that gives us Your strength!
